Effective chemical transfection for an anhydrobiotic insect cell line

Published in Cryobiology & Cryotechnology, 2025

The anhydrobiotic insect cell line Pv11, established from Polypedilum vanderplanki embryos, enables molecular studies of extreme desiccation tolerance. This study presents a chemical transfection method using FuGENE® HD as an alternative to electroporation. While requiring longer incubation, this approach markedly reduces cytotoxicity while maintaining robust gene delivery, providing a more practical method for genetic manipulation of Pv11 cells.
